Dr. Kashyap Patel

Kashyap Patel, MDis the CEOof Carolina Blood and Cancer Care Associates. He has a practice with 8 providers. He is the President for the Community Oncology Alliance. He interacts regularly with the US congress and Senate as well as White House on healthcare policy related issues for cancer patients. Heis a consultant Medical Director for the Blue Cross Blue Shields of SC. He is also the Medical Director of the International Oncology Network. He is the author of a book published by the Penguin Randomhouse India, www.betweenlifeanddeath.org

He is Associate Editor in Chief of the EBO publication of the American Journal of Managed Care.He has a special interest in health care disparities, value-based care, and the end-of-life care He authored a book Between Life and Death; from despair to hope, He has had extensive research experience in the field of oncology and has published and/or presented over 80 articles/abstracts in journals and/or meetings (nationally and internationally). He has had research merit awards for research in cancer including ASCO merit awards during fellowship.  He has received numerous awards including Living the Mission Award and Lifetime achievements awards from national cancer associations (ACCC, NCODA). In India he had worked as a journalist for the Indian Express Group and was a photojournalist.

He has started a foundation to support uninsured cancer patients and all proceeds from the book sales will go to 501C3 foundation-No One Left Alone (NOLA)

He has been interviewed and have featured in multiple national media including Washington Post, New York Times, CBS news, NPR just to name a few.

Dr. Nathwani

Dr. Nathwani is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology. She completed both her residency and fellowship at the University of Southern California / Los Angeles County Medical Center in Los Angeles, California in June 2007. She has been with Carolina Blood and Cancer Care since August 2007. She is Associate Director of Research, oversees Human Resources at Carolina Blood and Cancer Care and is the current President of NOLA. 

Dr. Emily Touloukian

Dr. Emily Touloukian is a medical oncologist at Coastal Cancer Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. A native of Bloomington, Indiana, she received her undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California and her medical degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois. She completed her Internship and Residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. She completed her Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan. Dr. Touloukian is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine. She is the Immediate Past President of the South Carolina Oncology Society and the current President of the Medical Society of Horry County. Dr. Touloukian is an active member of the teaching staff for the Internal Medicine residency at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where she serves as the Subspecialty Education Coordinator for Oncology and an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of South Carolina. She was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Community Oncology Alliance (COA) in 2021, has served on the Clinical Affairs Committee for the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) since 2019 and is its current chairperson, and is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) serving as a physician representative on the State Affiliate Council.

Holly Pisarik

Holly Pisarik is an attorney and is Senior Vice President of Advocacy and Policy Counsel at South Carolina Medical Association. She has served as chief counsel and cabinet director for over 3 years at the South Carolina department of Labor, Licensing and Regulations in the past for over 3 years. In addition she has worked as a chief legal counsel for Governor Nikki Haley in SC

Ashima Kodali

Ashima Kodali has a Bachelor of Architecture and a Masters of Landscape Architecture. She worked as a Landscape Architect and has been teaching dance fitness classes since 2010. Ashima has been working at Carolina Blood and Cancer Care since 2021 and has recently transferred her interests to the healthcare field with a focus on clinical trials, disparity studies, and NOLA. She is the Alt. Executive Director of NOLA and is committed to ensuring that patients at CBCCA have access to the resources and facilities needed to live a comfortable and holistic life.
